System Properties will not display

What a great website, I've learned so much just from reading!!

I am not able to right click on computer and then system properties...when I do it, the screen displays for a second and disappears.

I've tried unsuccessfully for the last several days to resolve this, various scans, I tried to go back to an earlier restore point and they have all gone except for onces from 3 days ago...very odd. I am not sure when this problem occurred either. My IE is also giving me fits, it will not allow me to certain regular sites like Yahoo and it just hangs and does nothing. I have disabled it and gone to Mozilla but then my outlook will not access hyperlinks, etc. So I reactivated it and I am using Mozilla as my regular browser until I can resolve all these issues.

Probably not the best written, thread here but I wanted to give all the facts I could to get help.

Thanks all in advance.

PS - I did run the sfc / scannow and no errors were found

Please fill in your system specs completely including your security programs.
Do you have or have you ever used IOBit Advanced System Care?

I am not sure what specifics you are asking for, but if you tell me I will post them.

Yes I have used the IOBIT Advanced system software for quite awhile and found it to be very helpful in the past.

bsketlady because you had some specs installed I assumed you knew how to fill them in. Sorry for my short sight.
Because you have used Advanced System Care their is a good chance you will need to do a clean install.
Many have had to. This is my opinion and would save you a lot of time.

oh I am so scared to do this clean install (not sure it is within my skill level!!)..i even purchased the advanced system care and didn't ever have any problems until just recently...I was thinking my issues were due to the IE updates?? maybe not ?? my internet explorer was giving me fits too, it will not go to certain sites, or will kick back an error that it crashed...

isn't this the same as a system reformat? there has to be a more simple solution....no?

how odd -- I just got a call from 210 526 6628 (TEXAS) and it was a foreign man who knew I was having problems with my windows...of course, I knew this was a scam and hung up, but that was creepy

Yes, a clean install is a "system reformat".

A couple things you can try to see if your issues can be fixed without a clean install:

1) Run a System File Check - SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
2) Do a Repair Install - Repair Install

Yeah, IOBIT is like malware. DO not ever buy in the future any "optimization" or registry cleaner software. They cause a lot more issues then they solve.

Let windows 7 take care of itself. This is not windows xp.
