Harddrive Format Error and Theme Custom Problems

    Hi, I 'm a new Win7 comer, I got 2 problems which I really can't solve....
To be clear, I had uploaded lots of pics for explain
    (I got Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit)

    First Problem :
I got a 3TB HD for my system. I cut my HD 300GB for OS, others for storage.
But somehow it seems I can only use up to 1.7TB

It seems like those 746.52GB are totally wasted (I can't even format to use them)
I tried to delete drive E, but those 2 volume won't merge...
    Windows 7 can't support 3TB HD ???

Second Problem : Back then in WinXP I always changed the background to light grey
Pure white is hurting my eyes.

So once I finished install Wins7, I changed the background color as usual :

But this time I only changed that small window's color :

    And it helps nothing...

Kinda funny it works perfectly on window classic theme :

Please don't tell me I have to keep in window classic theme
my pc looks even older than winXP

Really need help on those 2 problems
Thanks for everyone 's time !

    Welcome to the forum,

In regards to your first problem, drives over 2TB have to be formatted GPT to use all of it.

Windows support for hard disks that are larger than 2 TB

Since that is your boot drive you would have to have an UEFI BIOS to change that to GPT.

Convert MBR Disk to GPT Disk

You're welcome, Those options you are changing are for the Basic or Classic themes, if you want a different color in those ares on Aero themes you probably need a custom theme.
