Systemwide stuttering after 2-3+ days of uptime

I rarely turn my computer off. After two or three days of continuous uptime, my computer starts stuttering. Every few seconds, mouse and keyboard input will pause for a brief moment. It's fixed with a reboot, but I really don't like restarting my computer. How can I fix the stuttering without rebooting?

Do you have your monitor set so that it goes dark after a certain about of time with no keystrokes (20 minutes for me)?

Work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 to be sure you have a Clean Boot, optimal AV for performance, clean logs, Problem Solutions applied, hardware tested, etc.
