Hello bonbonboi, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm not sure what's wrong with your current explorer.exe file, but you could run a sfc /scannow command to repair or replace it with a clean copy.

    Hope this helps, :)

I do not want to replace it with the orginal one, because I have updated the windows lately. so the one one the DVD will be older than the current. the explorer.exe hit by a virus, so that is why I need to know the latest version os I can replace the infected one

Unless the component store has been infected as well, then SFC would replace it with a clean current one from the component store in Windows and not from the DVD.

In addition, is your system showing to be clean now by an AV program?

I have searched c:\Windows for all files named "explorer.exe" i found that "6.1.7601.21669 (win7sp1_ldr.110225-1503)" is highest version among of them and it's clean.

The component store would have a copy of the same file version number as what you currently have in "C:\Windows\System32".

It wouldn't hurt to give SFC a try, but in the end it's up to you.

There is no update for explorer, the version that comes with windows is the one you use, just fix the one you have, never heard of explorer getting infected, please elaborate.
