Not familiar with Windows "Screen Capture feature" but do you mean the Snipping Tool?

IIRC back in the days of DOS (and other text based OS's), prnscn key would dump what was on the screen to the printer port. I like these old legacy things - like clicking a pic of a floppy to save in a modern app eg here in my state of the art, 4 grand Cinema 4D

I think that "Ctrl + Prt Scrn" sends the image to the printer.

When I got my first official IT certificates (I had been using PCs for ~16 years prior to that course) we had to use that method to document certain activities.
I think the training centre was using Windows NT4.0.
