Blackscreens in games, forcing manual reboot
Hi,
GENERAL INFO
I've been getting these random blackscreens while playing games recently and I have run out of ideas on how to fix it. If I recall correctly this problem is an old one while playing league of legends, I recently took up playing it again and after a while the blacksreens returned.
All this time I have thought there to be a specific issue with the league of legends software but today it happened for the first time in another game (Starcraft 2). What I do not know is if this spreading of the problem is due to me trying to correct the problem in the first place? (I for instance updated my video card driver). I do not play any other games so I do not know if it would happen in some other game.
PROBLEM SYMPTOMS
The blackscreens always occurs midgame (meaning never in the game lobbies, or by simply running the game clients, ofc this could be due to me not spending enough time there).
The screen goes black, the message for no input appears on my screens and sound is still playing. The computer does not respond and I have to manually reboot it every time.
Sometimes I get a lighter version of the problem and the screen simply goes black for a couple of seconds while the game still responds to my commands. Then the image returns and I can continue like nothing happened.
Also worth mentioning might be that in the same Starcraft 2 game that the blackscreen happened in the game also randomly changed resolution making it almost unplayable.
I'm guessing that the problem lies with the video card, whether hardware or software wise I don't know, and I do not know how to find out.
I also ran some games with hardware monitor on my second screen to try and see if there's any alarming temperature spikes but I couldn't see any. I recently cleaned the computer with compressed air too.
Since there is no bluescreens I am not sure I posted in the right area of the forums and if you still want me to upload the SF-file?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
