Made a ShortCut to My Windows Photo Gallery, Not what Expected!

When ever I open my Windows Photo Gallery I get over (16532) every pictures from App Data to all Program pictures and it takes forever to get to MY photo's.
I thought if I made a Short Cut to my Photo's.... User\Ladybuggz\PhotoGallery to my DeskTop I would just have one click and my Photo's would open up ........Well I now have 168 pictures with a shortcut attached to them! My desk top is crammed!
Please someone tell me how to get them off without losing my photos!

Shortcuts are not your actual files. Just delete the shortcuts on your desktop. You can tell it is a shortcut by the little white square allow in the bottom left corner of the icon.
To get your pictures folder on your desktop, click start. Then click and drag on pictures and drag it to the desktop. All done!

A shortcut has a little square on it that looks like this:

Photo Fuse in Photo Gallery stopped working
