All files open in background??

I HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM!!! You must delete two files.
1. Close ObjectDock.
2. Locate and open the ObjectDock directory folder on your hard Drive.
3. Delete the following files: Dock64.dll Dock64.exe
4. Right-click the ObjectDock executable folder and Go to properties-compatability-run program in compatability mode for : WindowsXP SP3.

Gavel, you are on to something. This fixed the issue when opening photos, however, not when opening video.

I have hope now, however, and really appreciate you posting this fix.

I haven't tried video yet because I'm RDP'ing to my PC right now but I'll try it tonight.

The only problem now is anything launched from the ObjectDock, meaning when you click on any shortcuts, everything opens in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. I just noticed it because my Firefox menu highlights change to something other than normal compared to when I launch it from the Start Menu.

Well, unfortunately this wasn't the fix after all. It worked great for a couple of days, but today I couldn't get Chrome to launch from the dock. It kept giving me a message that it was unable to launch. I could only start from Start Menu.

I was forced to return the two deleted files and turn off the compatibility mode in order to get it to launch correctly again. **sigh**

I'm going to try the process again, but this sucks. I was pretty excited there for a couple of days.

You're right, Huff, it's pretty quirky behavior.

I, for one, am not ready to give up ObjectDock. Bugged, yes, is my soul...

More baggage than necessary there.

I'm tinkering with the 'Miscellaneous Properties' of ObjDock now, which seems to have stuff about window interaction (i'm sure all of you have done this already...). Needs restarts, though, so i'm not sure if i've touched all the possibilities.

On another note. it's quite remarkable that all of us turned out to be ObjectDock users. I'm in awe, again, of the might of (forum) communication.
Let me marvel at this, so as to distract myself from the helplessness of the situation. I guess i'll learn to live with it. Until Stardock comes up with upgrades (wow! Spoilt, aren't we?).

I got that too, hate when I open something and it opens behind anything else that is open; I opened it and it means I want it on top.

Anyway what worked for me is the following (small warning, involves a registry edit),

1. Open regedit and navigate to the following,

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

2. Once there locate ForeGroundLockTimeout

3. Right click and select modify, change the Base to Decimal and make the new value 0

4. Log off or reboot for the change to take effect.

Once done you should also be able to turn off compatibility mode for Object Dock.
