Help please: I have no hybrid sleep option

Firstly, apologies if I am in the wrong section - I was confused as to where best to aske this.

(I have Windows 7 Home Premium on a desktop pc)

    I have been into ...
    Power Options
    Change Plan Settings
    Change Advanced Power Settings
and when I expand Sleep there is no Hybrid Sleep option.

I have been investigating which is best from Sleep, Hibernate etc and think Hybrid Sleep might be the best option but am frustrated that it is not available.

    Any help most gratefully received

You fail to mention which Plan you are on though.

    This old thread might help:
I have no Hybrid sleep option
It seems to touch on most of the possibilities.

    Try changing it to Balanced.

    Click Change Plan Settings.

    Click Change Advanced Power Settings.

Scroll down to Sleep and open it.

Scroll to Allow Hybrid Sleep and click it.

Click Setting and make sure it's set to On.

Thankyou .... have done as you suggested but it is not there as an option.

If I fail to find it do you recommend Sleep or Hibernate as being the kindest to my (aging) pc?

In all the machines that I have had and also the ones that I worked on I have always turned off any aspect of Sleep/Hibernate etc.

When I've finished a session I shut down as normal.

    Where?

I don't have that option on my desktop PC either.

    Note:
In my case, I have disabled Hibernation (using the powercfg command) so that probably explains why I don't see it.

    Do you have hibernate enabled?
    Hibernate - Enable or Disable

edit: Yes, hibernate must be on to have Hybrid sleep.
