    Losing Start Button

On my laptop, every few months or so, my Start Button disappears on boot. The taskbar is still there, but there is a white spot where the Start Button used to be. I think this is due to getting some Malware as the only time I use my laptop in on a public wifi. The only way I have found to restore the SB is to do a Macrium Restore and things are fine for a while. I checked Google and did not see anything about only losing only the SB. There are things about losing the whole Taskbar. Have any of you heard of this before?

Sounds like a system file may be corrupt. Try running sfc /scannow, can't do any harm! I guess you have run Malwarebytes just in case!

All the files were OK and I have run Malwarebytes. Everything is good for now. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Do you employ and 3rd party themes or have you modified the Start Menu button?
