    Sleep mode


    Hi, My friend has a desktop PC running windows 7. He puts it to sleep, on returning to the PC he moves the mouse to wake the computer, the screen comes to life but the screen is black with a dialogue box saying "restart" nothing else is shown on the screen. He clicks on the restart button and the PC switches off. switch the PC on again and it will not load windows. Why?

    Run a system file check.

    SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    And restore the balanced power plan to default settings.

    Set the display and sleep timings to whatever you want and test.

I want windows media center computer to go into hibernate mode only. Now it goes to sleep after 25 min and then hibernates after 30 min. How do i set it so it will go right into hibernate mode? thanks:)
