It doesn't seem the right fix. :-( It is intended to fix number ordering.
Here is some info about your "sortfix.reg":

sorry i wasnt 100% sure what needed to be fixed.
Whole OS needs to be fixed as far as i know.
Nah, not the whole OS but "only" the explorer.exe process and/or some related dlls...
Moreover, the strangest thing is that it seems to me that this bevaviour is not the same in every folder, but some are not affected... maybe I'm wrong...
i notice the same thing. I also notice that 64bit is jerky and 32 bit is smooth when it comes to applications like game map editing and video composting and such.
Something about 64bit is just not very comfortable feel to it.
It also funny how navigation sounds dont always play, like folder navigation click sounds back and forward.
Quick launch would disapera once in a while for no reason.
you cant start media player from start menu search. I tried to search for windows media and player and play and video and audio, that damn thing is just not there and i wonder why. Isnt windows media player a art of windows that should be easily found ?
or maybe its just me
I notice this too. After some experimentation, it looks like the auto-refresh applies to folders using the 'Pictures' template. So, I went and changed all the folders to using the 'General Items' template, and the auto-refresh is gone!
To change the template, go to the folder, right-click on an empty space -> choose 'Customize this folder...' -> choose 'Customize' tab -> change 'Optimize this folder for' to 'General Items'.
Hope this works for you...

- It contains Three subkeys. One of them, curiously enough, is DontRefresh and it has a value of 1 (turned ON)One of Them, curiously Enough, is DontRefresh and IT HAS and Value of 1 (turned ON) value to 0 (turned OFF)
Hope this helps,
Captain
i wish such option existed for desktop.
Windows 7 has issues refreshing folder contents and if you change folder icon (not traditional way) windows 7 will take countless restarts to finally realize it.
I too miss it. Like I miss the ability to add an "up directory one level" button to explorer windows. Oh well.
I think Capt. Jack has been dipping into the grog. My registry search reveals no DontRefresh key.
I've got a working Up button, courtesy of Classic Shell. See Ray Woodcock's Latest: Windows 7: A Shared, Relocated Start Menu
