Anyone regret moving to Windows 7?

I'm a Vista 64 bit user. I have never disliked Vista. IMO, most people who say they don't like Vista are either the very early users of it, or they've been brainwashed to not like it. It's been my favorite version of Windows since 3.1.

Today I got my free upgrade to Windows 7 in the mail and I still haven't decided if I'm gonna upgrade. I already know some things about Windows 7 would annoy me. For example, no classic start menu. I hate the non-classic start menu. There are other things too.

Anyway, is there anyone here that LIKED Vista, upgraded to Windows 7, and wish they didn't?

I skipped Vista but will chime in anyway. Windows 7 is clean, fast, and my knock on it is that it is not quite customizeable enough. I do not like the start menu at all. Not even close to regretting moving to it though - its the best new OS in quite a while

    Hi Win7noob.

I used Vista and remember it with fondness. It was the first ever OS i used as my own (being that the first PC i ever bought had Vista pre-installed on it).
I think you're right in what you say about the brainwashing, people seem to love to hate it.....god knows why????
With regard to the classic stat menu, see here
With that said, i started using the Beta of W7 as soon as i could, i've also loved it from the go and don't regret now upgrading one bit. i think you'll feel the same after a time of using it

The start menu is excellent, the XP start menu was horrible.
Get in the habit of searching for programs you want to launch and you'll never go back.

I've used Windows since version 2.0 (not too many of you had used Windows 2.0, I bet).

Windows 95 was great, but Windows 7 rivals Windows 95 as the best Windows yet.

I liked vista a lot, it was a major step forward from XP in almost every way. On the surface and below.

7 is 3 years of refinement on Vista, most all of it for the better.

There are some ODD feature removals in 7 over Xp and Vista which I hope come back in a service pack later, but they are all relatively minor issues and probably forgotten about within a few months.

Enjoyed my love affair with XP, skipped Vista, and then realizing that I might now be too far behind the curve I forced myself to get OS-current again with Win7. It took me a day or two to get used to the new UI but since then I am very happy with Win7.

Like others here I have grown quite fond of the search method for launching programs and control panel applets.
