I love 7. Once I installed it I didn't want to go back to XP. I couldn't wait to upgrade my laptop from Vista x32 to 7 x64. I'm never going back to XP or to Vista (except for XP Mode for some veeeeerrrrryyyyy old software.) I'm upgrading the rest of my 'puters one by one.

As to PDF, I've been using CutePDF for years. It works great on 7.

I'm a Vista 64 bit user. I have never disliked Vista. IMO, most people who say they don't like Vista are either the very early users of it, or they've been brainwashed to not like it. It's been my favorite version of Windows since 3.1.

Today I got my free upgrade to Windows 7 in the mail and I still haven't decided if I'm gonna upgrade. I already know some things about Windows 7 would annoy me. For example, no classic start menu. I hate the non-classic start menu. There are other things too.

Anyway, is there anyone here that LIKED Vista, upgraded to Windows 7, and wish they didn't?
I do not regret it in the least. It's awesome. And I have had/used every version of Windows to date from 95 onwards.

    not a single regret =)
stable, better memory management then xp and the vista versions i have used, excellent interface for users who runs 20000 tasks, and actually for the first in windows i learnt start menu can actually be usefull.

I just think it lacks a bit of custmization features.

Ow and of course, it has the "amazing" capability of doing virtual folders, wich i 've seek since 2002.

bottomline: i just love it, can't live without any single day anymore -.-, i even like microsoft now.

Windows 7 is the best yet. Vista was resource hungry n slow, i mean it was slllooooow. Windows 7 is a kick ass. Win 7 is best upgrade from Xp as Xp was from Win 98.

I know what you mean. I never hated MS, but after installing and using 7 I have some warm fuzzies towards Redmond that I don't think I've felt for a long time.

After all, this is the Windows 7 Forum. I guarantee that the same statement over at the Mac Forum will be much better received

Vista was fine, but Windows 7 is better.

I thought I would have issues with the new Windows Start menu, since I was sticking to the classic Windows 95 menu in Vista. However, when I upgraded to Windows 7, I adapted quickly and now I really like the "new" XP-styled menu.

Windows 7 just feels like an OS designed by smart people who actually used their brains in making this OS. Windows ME and Windows Vista, on the other hand, felt like OS's written by a bureaucracy instead of smart people.

That's the difference between Vista and 7.

Me and Vista were the Coke 2s of Microsoft--made specifically to create the aha moment in consumers when first encountering their successors.

satchmo, what do you mean by xp styled menu? I think it looks more like the vista menu than the xp menu.

Vista was a very good OS. Windows 7 is an equally good OS.
