    no display at startup


    Hello,

    I have an intel dx58so motherboard, intel i7 950 cpu, antec truepower 1000w supply, 6gb ddr3 memory.

    When i boot it takes 15-20 seconds before i see something on the display and when the display turns on.

    When i reboot i don't have this problem at all.

    I tried with 3 different graphic cards and problem stays.

    Anyone an idea what the problem could be ?

    Have you tried start up repair in the install menu on the installation disc?

    well it happens before i'm on windows. It's when i startup the computer it takes 15-20 seconds before my display turns on.

    I mean from the installation disc for Win7,after you select languages etc you have an option on the bottom left to "Repair Computer" (under Install Now )

    Click the top option with the Win7 OS and run start-up repair 3 times as it can be buggy.

I'ts been going on for a while now couldn't say exactly how long (1 year+?)... But for the most part when I turn my computer on nothing will be displayed (no signal either) and if it gets to the windows log in screen (can tell based on the sound) I can unplug the DVI attached to my 4890 and plug...
When I turn on my HTPC it displays the Windows 7 Desktop for a bit before being able to open Media Center. Is there a way to have Windows 7 not display the Desktop if it knows Media Center will be opening thereafter?
Display on startup
in Graphic Cards

Whenever the laptop is switched on the display is in potrait! Pressing F1 gets it back to normal but anyone know how to get rid of this default setting?
