    Partition Wizard 8.1.1 and SSDs

I've always put my trust in Partition Wizard and I'm aware it's the favourite disk management software here, but I'm not having much joy with it on my new PC (see my system specs). It is failing to boot from CD with a "kernel panic" error message. This gave me a bit of a problem but Easeus Partition Master did boot and got me out of a hole. The installed version seems to work OK.

Is it working OK for others using SSD?

Sounds like PW linux cd doesn't have exactly the right drivers for your new machine.

You are probably better using Aomei Partition Assistant-standard edition is free. That will make winpe from your HD for you.

I would prefer WinPE. Thanks, I'll take a look.

This is odd. Aomei Partition Assistant creates a WinPE bootable ISO but when booted to it it can't see my USB drive though the installed version can. Even odder, I also installed Aomei Backupper and created its WinPE bootable ISO and that CAN see my external drive, as can my Acronis bootable ISO. I'm not comfortable with bootable ISOs that can't see all of my drives so I'm still looking for a partitioning program that doesn't have this issue on my setup.

Tried both USB2 and 3, yet my Acronis 2014 Linux ISO sees it using either, as does my Puppy 5.7 ISO and Aomei Backupper. I've tried the two Aomei programs previously and encountered issues. Seem very usable products but I'm not convinced all the bugs are out of them yet.

For the time being I'll create an ISO from my Easeus Partition Master Pro CD, an oldish freebie I can't install now - time expired- and use that until such time as an Aomei update fixes the problem.

I wouldn't be messing about with any of this but for EasyBCD - it's made it too quick and simple to keep adding bootable ISO tools instead of just using CDs as and when.
