Can't install printer in Virtual Windows XP

    Computer: Dell Inspiron 660
Operating system: Windows 7 Pro SP1
Printer: Dell Laser Printer B23060dn with latest drivers installed

    =====

The printer is connected via a USB cable. When in Windows 7, it works perfectly. It used to work fine in Virtual Windows XP Mode, but when I tried to reinstall it in the virtual machine, I consistently failed.

Here is the method I've tried:
    1. With the printer turned on and connected to the computer, I started Virtual Windows XP.

    2. I clicked "USB" at the the top of the desktop, and a menu appeared with this list:
    CanoScan .................... Attach
Dell B2360dn Laser Printer .. Shared
    USB2.0-CRW .................. Shared
    3. I clicked on the printer entry and got a window asking whether I wanted to "attach
    USB device." I clicked "yes."

    4. I got this window:
Could not attach the USB device. You can
attach the USB device to a different USB
port or restart the virtual machine and
    try again.
    5. I restarted and tried again but always got the same result. The Control Panel within Virtual Windows XP shows no printers installed.
    What am I doing wrong?

In XP Mode, open a Command Prompt, type net share and press Enter.

    What does it report?

"Net view" states there are no entries.

Read here, see if any of the methods described allows you to install the printer:
