Protect Folder

I have a folder of documents I want to password protect or something equivalent, to make the folder confidential. does windows 7 allow for doing that, or do I need some third party software?

thanks.

Windows 7 does not have a native feature to do this but if you Google "Password protect folder on Windows 7" there's loads of ideas!

7 zip can do this quite well, with very good encryption.
