Lenovo v570 laptop - CTRL key always stuck down

Hi, on my laptop the control key is ALWAYS pressed. I can't fix it no matter what. I tried prying off the key with a screwdriver & making sure nothing was jammed in there, there's nothing wrong with the key itself, it looks great on the inside.

    Now here's the kicker:

The CTRL key is ALWAYS on, however, if I open the on screen keyboard program, it fixes the problem. Which makes me think it's a windows issue rather than an actual physical keyboard issue.

I'm at the point now where I'm just going to re install windows if I can't fix it

if that doesn't work I'll take it to a repair shop (So expensive..yikes)

    So, any suggestions guys?

    Any help is extremely appreciated.

P.S - It does this EVEN if an external keyboard is connected.

The on-screen keyboard would be expected to perform correctly because it's a virtual keyboard in Windows and not mechanical. Despite your hesitation I can't imaging this being a Windows issue. However the problem replicating on an external keyboard is vexing. Is it USB or PS3?

When did you first notice this? How does it manifest itself? A Cntrl command is executed when you type a letter?

Stick around as someone will likely recognize the issue or have an idea that helps.

I noticed this about 2 months ago, I haven't been able to use my laptop because of this issue.

Also, I should have explained about the onscreen keyboard better - The on screen keyboard program has to be open (I don't use the program at all, it just needs to be open) and my laptop keyboard works without the CTRL problem. When I close it, CTRL gets stuck again.

When the problem is occuring, it's as if CTRL is always pressed. Like, if I click on a file, then click another file it would select both files at once since CTRL is pushed down. Or if I type letters in notepad typing the letter S saves the file, typing the letter O opens a file ect. So I know for a fact it's CTRL being pressed, I just can't figure out how or why.
