Laptop do not shut down after sleep

    Hello,

I've a Toshiba Tecra R840 laptop running Win7 Professional sp1 64 bit. It runs in a 512GB SSD. I use a Targus Bluetooth mouse. From 2 or 3 weeks ago (I think) after sleep 2 things happens:

1- mouse stop working (only after a computer restart it will work again)
2- windowns will not shut down (the shutdown screen appears but it will remain forever).

Power management seems to be ok (allow the computer to.... it is not checked).

    Please help me here

    Cheers,
    paulo

Is there an older or newer driver for the mouse? If it's the latest driver it could have a regression. An older driver may actually be free of the problem.

If you have a USB wired mouse try that. If the problem disappears then you may have to wait until the bluetooth driver is fixed. On my Toshiba Laptop I use a USB optical mouse I got for $5. I didn't want to go wireless since a battery would add weight to the Laptop bag. :)

That's a surprise. Nothing shows unusual in device manager?

Have you tried a clean boot?

Yes I tried it (after you post it) but the problem remains! I mean, after the clean boot (a superfast one) I put the laptop in sleep mode and then I wake it. The USB and BT mice do not work and when I cannot shutdown the laptop (the shut down process remains forever).

HELP PLEASE. Computer do not shutdown after waking from sleep

    Hello,

I've a Toshiba Tecra R840 laptop running Windows 7 Professional sp1 64 bit. It runs in a 512GB SSD. I use a Targus Bluetooth mouse. I have this problem after waking the laptop from sleep:

1- mouse stop working (only after a computer restart it will work again)
2- windows will not shut down (the shutdown screen appears but it will remain forever).

Power management seems to be ok (allow the computer to.... it is not checked).
A Clean Boot did not solved the problem.

No problems with shutdown when the laptop did not entered in a sleep mode!

After sleep a USB wired mouse do not work too!

    Please help me here

    Cheers,

This usually a registry error that caused the long shutdown but the links below will show you how the fix the problem

    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...-combined.html

These downloads contain .reg files which you click on to merge it the registry to replace the faulty key
