Fresh install keeps freezing

I went ahead and did a fresh install because I picked up 2 new 1tb wd blacks and a bluray burner(only new components) and windows keeps freezing. I gave it some time in safe mode doing normal things and it did not freeze. Right now Im doing another install and trying to think where the problem came from so I avoid it this time.

This is what I did the first time. After windows installed I did the normal updates, then went to amd and let them install what they needed(ccc and amd gaming evolved) for my display drivers. Ive never install graphics drivers that way so it was a bit weird but I guess it installd my 7850 drivers right . Then went to asus and got my audio, lan, usb and chipset drivers. The chipset drivers might of been what messed me up because it did the same thing amd did I think. Do I need the chipset drivers for asus?

Any advice on when to do this time around would be great because I always get a bit paranoid when doing a fresh install and trying to get all of the right drivers.

Why are you installing a bunch of drivers into a driver-complete OS? Did you think it is XP?

Start over and after install only install the network driver if needed to get online, enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3), Check for Updates, then install all Important and Optional Windows Updates with requested reboots until there are no more offered when you go back each time to Check for Updates.

Afterwards if any drivers are missing in Device Manager import them from the device's Support Downloads webpage. We can help you. Avoid any software packages which add bloatware to basic driver functions.

As Greg said, it's best to start over. One thing about the AMD graphics drivers: They often install your chipset drivers for you, if they are in need of being updated. At the very least, they will install the USB/Southbridge drivers which control the USB and hard disks unless you choose a Custom Install and uncheck the option to do so. These new drivers may conflict with the existing drivers that Windows installs, or cause other problems.

Yeah, Im starting over. I was told you had to get all of the motherboard drivers when doing a new build. This is only my second time doing this so Im not that experienced. All I did the first time was do the windows updates. Install whatever amd/ati needed which was ccc and raptr for the graphics drivers. THen went over to asus and picked the motherboard drivers listed in my first post. I guess Ill skip the chipset drivers and get the lan usb and audio.

Letting almost freezing air into room with PC for fresh air
Is it okay to let fresh air from outside that is almost freezing (3C/37F)? Can this damage any computers in the room or is it safe? I only let in fresh air for 3-5 minutes and close it again. The air is pretty dry currently, will that make a difference?
