    Solved a Event Viewer problem

I am pretty sure I posted a question about problems closing a window in Event Viewer.
However, when I did a search on all my postings, the forum could not find anything.

Anyways, I was not able to close the Event Viewer window being told that I still had
things open. I closed whatever was in view. This problem was only solved when after
several attempts to close it in Task Manger, Windows told me the Event Viewer was not responding. It finally closed it out. This kind of unresponsiveness disturbs me
about Windows 7, but I guess it is just one of those quirks we have to put up with.

Well I think that's normal. My understanding is that W7 thinks it still needs it running whether or not you want it to. I think it's a way the W7 is making sure you mean what you are ticking on. It wouldn't hurt to run sfc /scannow.

Tried the sfc /scannow. It poped up a dos window so quick I didn't have time to read it.

Maybe this program is more suitable to Windows XP?

You need to open a command prompt with admin privileges then run sfc /scannow in the command prompt.

As badcat mentioned, you'll need to open an Elevated Command Prompt. By that, you'll get administrator access and rights.

    Elevated Command Prompt

Now, you should be able to run sfc /scannow

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for the replies.

I was able to run the scan as the administrator and my system is clean.
