Laptop only boots in safe mode - sfc can't repair all files

My Win7 laptop only boots in safe mode (safe networking also works) but not in normal mode. It shuts down right after logging into normal mode. I ran sfc scannow thrice and it says that it found corrupt files but was not able to fix some of them. I can't upload the CBS log file due to size limitations (it's 7MB).
    What should I try next?
    Thanks.

I also tried system restore but it still does not boot up to normal mode. Any ideas?

I'm a little confused by this:
You can only do a repair install from within Windows 7.
You cannot do a repair install at boot or in Safe Mode.

I'm unable to boot into Win 7 and can only boot into safe mode. SFC found 3 corrupted files that it can't repair. In that case, how do I do the repair install? Thanks.

What happens exactly if you try to boot normally?

If I try to boot normally, it just reboots within 5-10 seconds of booting up.

Disable the automatic restart so you can see the blue screen! How to disable automatic system restart on system failure in windows 8, 7, vista, XP | TroubleShoot Windows

    Does "clean startup" boot normally?

Did you perform "system restore" to a date/time prior to "last succesfull normal boot"?

Sure computer crashes AFTER logon? So if you don't logon and wait about 5 minutes the problem doesn't occur?

Yes, I performed system restore to the earliest possible point but it still failed.
to your question about when it reboots - yes, it only crashes after I login and enter the password. If I let it sit at the login prompt, it stays there and doesn't reboot.
I will disable the auto restart next..thanks.
