Try Comodo Dragon. Its Chrome but with better privacy and security. Comodo Ice Dragon is Firefox with better privacy and security.

Try swapping out the keyboard. I thinking maybe a Macro switch might be causing the post to disappear and other goofy things.

Colin I mean that little swirl thing that appears when Windows is loading for example or the one that shows on the tab when you are loading a link. see pic
Now it is strange too that using the snip and then changing it after saving the original image is left behind as well as changing it and adding text and why I think the system is out of whack somehow.

Jack I think there may be something like that as I just found the insert key on when it is something I never use and again this message disappeared when I went to use speckie to change the spelling.

What I might do is uninstall the software for the KB - it is quite extensive and also speckie and see what happens.

Well I have uninstall-ed the software for the KB as I really don't want to lose this one as they are now unobtainable and the very best I have ever used.

I have reinstalled the speckie and so far so good. So I think it must have been something to do with the KB software. Boot time seems to have improved a bit too.
