    Help finding the right laptop

So I am not really good at finding the new pc to get as there are so many, so I need your help. I want a laptop that is not touchscreen, I would prefer for it to have a dvd drive, windows 7 or 8 is fine. I also want a quad core processor, with a decent video card. Any brand really is fine as long as they are known for there laptops. I'm looking at around 650 or lower, but not extremely low...
    Thanks in advance!

You give barely any info, and that is why you have not gotten a response yet.

1.) What are you going to use this PC for? Games, video editing? What?

2.) What is the price range?

3.) What features are you looking for?

    This might help:

I doubt you'll find anything that will play minecraft well for 650,
    Possibly 950 ?

Try the usual places (NewEgg, Tiger Direct, Best Buy, Costco) for whatever is on promotion. Look for at least 6 MB of RAM and quad-core and most of the rest will fall in to place. I've had good luck with Lenovo lately as far as performance and reliability per dollar. Keep in mind you are distinctly in the low end of the range so you will have to be willing to compromise.

Refurbs can be a good deal if you need to stretch the buck, but usually the wty is shorter. Good luck!

I'm sure RogerR was meaning 6gigs of ram not 6mg

Even the new Surfaces are priced at 7-800.00 and that's just the basic model with little storage
Anything with win-8 will be touch screen and anything new will most likely have touch screen capabilities,
It's just where technology is going,
    Cheers.
