Cannot Delete Partition/s

Hi all,

may I say what an excellent forum this is.

My problems is that I have 2 back up/revovery partitions that I would like to have usable storage. My machine previously had vista installed and I believe these are remnants of the old system, although I did do a clean install of 7 home Premium.
I have been through the tutorial but unfortuantely dont have any right click options available for these 2 back up partitions in disk management.

I have attached a screen dump of the disk layout, which may be of some use.

Hi and welcome to Seven Forums

Download the bottom "Boot Disc" and the software above it.
Free Download Partition Wizard

Go into the software program, and see if you can do it while still in your os.

If not click "Create Boot Disk" (or something similar i think) and boot the computer with that and try to delete it from there.

Hope this helps

Many thanks, works a treat within the OS. It even lets me explore the partition to see whats on it, something win 7 disc management wouldnt allow me to do.
Just need to work out now whether it is safe to delete or not.

No problem,glad you got sorted

I wouldnt delete it until you made a back up image or recovery disc.

I made an image from within windows 7 and had windows write it to a USB hard drive, btw this was only an image of my C drive. Would this be sufficient or should I also make a bootable recovery disc and/or make an image of the entire disc?
