Windows 7: I am having a problem with WiFi on my laptop

No joy...

I triple-checked and there is no mention of WiFi anywhere. As a matter of fact, it is a pretty spare BIOS, in my opinion.
Anyway, nothing there.
This is weird. Why can't HP provide me with the correct darn driver? Dell does a pretty good job of this. Whooops! I'm getting frustrated.

A Driver will not help if you can not find the Device ... Maybe a USB Network Adapter would be the answer ..

Your Drivers are in the Link below ..

No sign of the Wireless one though ... Did you Install the Graphics Driver from the HP Website ?

If the adapter isn't showing in BIOS there isn't any way you could install a driver even if you had one. It's probable the unit has failed. You could always plug in a USB wireless adapter, they are not expensive.

EDIT - sorry Maxie, we cross posted

Since this is a desktop computer, are you absolutely sure it ever had wifi working? Desktops typically don't have wifi built-in. That would explain why you don't see anything in Device Mgr. As Maxie said, you could get an inexpensive USB wifi dongle to solve the issue.

When I suggested contacting HP earlier, I meant contacting them by phone or email, not just checking their website.

Looks as if it might have had one

No. Now that I thought it over, I cannot say for sure that it ever had WiFi. Son-of-a-gun, I think I might be losing it... if I ever had it.

All right, here's what I am going to do. I am going to investigate the possibility of using a plug-in adapter.

I really appreciate the replies and suggestions. I am going to mark this thread as "solved" because I believe it is.

Thanks again everybody!
