Can't uninstall stamps.com - invalid character in My Desktop

I tried installing the update to stamps.com to version 12, which uninstalls the old version first.

The stamps.com uninstaller chokes with the error

"The folder path My Desktop contains an invalid character".

I am running a current version of Windows 7 within Parallels Desktop 9 on a MacBook Pro.

I cleaned the registry with CCleaner and that didn't help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I should have made that clearer. I have tried that a few times. I also tried using CCleaner's uninstaller. They all through the same error message. Very weird.

    Revo Uninstaller

That is an excellent idea. I will give it a whirl when I get back home and are off from work.

I was able to use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall old stamps.com (took some doing). I ran CCleaner and cleaned up registry, etc. Went to install and I got the exact same message about being unable to install stamps.com.

I noticed that I still have the VMWare Shared Folders (I used to use VMWare now I use Parallels). I was able to unlink those and then delete this share.

I believe that what stamps.com is actually trying to do is put a shortcut on my desktop and it can't and it throws up the error that it uses if it can't get to the My Desktop folder when uninstalling. Just a guess.

I have posted a question on Parallels forum. I will see what they say.
