    Are there supposed to be 24 Dllhost.exe com surrogates


    Hello

    My computer is running slow and i noticed in the task manager processes there were 24 of these dllhost.exe working and using up my cpu.

    A little help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the Forums.

    Dllhost.exe is just a wrapper that loads and runs a Dll as if it were an exe. To know what is going on you need to look in task manager to see what Dlls are being run and why.

    Edit: On my HP desktops if the drive was so busy I couldn't use it, usually it was Windows Media Player trying to find every media file on my system to share it over the network. Look in task manager for mobsync.exe. If it is running that may be the issue. But it can be drive indexing or any number of things.

    You have to be more precise. Which one is using the CPU and which .dlls are running under it.

I started taskmanager and show proccesses from all users. I found a dllhost.exe on i click it then it disappears. Is this a virus? Google dlllhost.exe to see.. Or is that proccess what i see: dllhost.exe but not dlllhost.exe? :huh:
