Trying to permanently remove FIPS from my PC

A while back one of my programs didn't launch. I received an error "This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms". I learned how to disable FIPS using Regedit. The problem is that every time I reboot the computer, the FIPS registry key gets re-enabled.
I'm trying to find out how to permanently remove the FIPS stuff from my computer.
I don't know what actually caused the FIPS issue to start up in the first place.

    Thanks.

    Thank You.
The security setting for the FIPS was not defined, which, as I just found out, isn't the same as Disabled.
Set it to Disabled and all is well.

    Thanks again.
