    Open Folder Dosen't Work

Hello I have been looking on google for ages and just can't find an answer, I can live without this working but it is just bugging me why it doesn't work so hope someone can help please.

After downloading a file with IDM I get the option to "Open" that works "Open With" Also Works "Open Folder" doesn't open the folder after clicking it I just get a blue circle for a second then nothing.

It also happens with Duplicate Cleaner Pro when I right click the file I want to open and click on the "Show Folder in Windows Explorer" option nothing happens.

    Thank you for any help.

    Welcome to the Forums.

If you shift right click any file, then click "copy as path" does it paste the correct path to the file? For example if you then paste into Notepad.

That is a pretty strange error. If you press Winkey r, then paste the file in the Run line, then backspace out the filename part(for example change c:\temp\file.txt to c:\temp) and press Enter, does it open the folder?

It seems like it may be those applications rather than Windows shell. Do you know if they are 32 bit? If they are, in Task Manager next to the program it will say 32 bit, otherwise it's 64. I'm asking because 32 bit Explorer integration can have glitches on 64 bit OS. 32 bit programs are run by SysWow64 which is a 32 bit emulator, when you are on Windows 64 bit OS.

Thanks for the link to IDM but can't make head nor tail of what they are telling me to do although it probably is an IDM problem as you say.

The Duplicate Cleaner says in help/about it's 64 bit in the task manager it has nothing next to it.
IDM in task manager has *32 next to it.

Ok. It sounds like something is weird. It may be worth running system file checker. You may want to make a restore point before running it, just as a precaution. Here's a tutorial how to correctly use the command:

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
