Select All of the files with the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+A at the same time,
This should turn all of the thumbnails blue,
Then use Ctrl+C to copy,
Then click Start and Pictures,
Make a new folder call it what you want,
Then open the folders listing,
Then use Ctrl+P to paste the files into the folder.

You can disconnect the iphone just by unplugging it.
Deleting the files from the phone can be done after confirming the transfer is successful,
It's better to do the deletion on the phone so it can handle the deletion and not windows,
Cheers.

How about after you pasted the images into a new folder ?

If still no joy,
This was an issue a while back with the 4s model not sure but I thought apple finally fixed it ?

I'm thinking after everything I've looked at it would just be easier to install I cloud on my PC and go that route what you think?

Onedrive app in the apple store does the same thing as icloud and has more storage,
But yea there's something fishy about the 4s model
Review your settings for anything that states file protection on photos and videos,
It's weird because you say it shows the generic name numbering ?

When on your computer and on the devices screen Right click one of the files and select Properties,
Show me that window,
See the links above my signature on how to create and post screen shots here,
Cheers.
