Some kind of "Folder Options" thing, about visible directories

    Hi Everybody,

I'm trying to edit my hosts file, using Notepad ++

Oddly enough, the file-open function in Notepad ++ doesn't even "see" much less open/list the directory where hosts is.

    windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.(no extender)

What the heck is it about that directory---I've hunted through the folder-options list without any success.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Odd. Try running N++ as Administrator and see if that makes a difference

    Thanks for the tip, tookeri,

Didn't make a difference, still can't "see" the directory

Is it visible with ordinary Notepad? To see the files set filter *.*

    Thanks! Tookeri

How did you find that article? What did you search on.
It was the answer I needed
<whisper>(sometimes, if I keep re-phrasing the question better, I'm looking at the best answer: If I stuck to it)</whisper>
I have a 64-b version of Windows, and SYSTEM32 is just what it says it is, a 32-b directory
    Oie Vay!
    Thank you so much
