    unable to log in win 7 screen


    I type in the password but it says it's incorrect even though it is correct, it happen before, but I can log in successfully after a few attempts, now I cannot log in at all. I am afraid to close down my laptop now, and leave it on . please help.

    Make sure the caps lock is not on.

    Password errors are always user error.

    Other options:

    My cap lock is not on. I have this problem for months, but I can always log in with the same password if i persistently tried a few times. But now the problem has asculated to the point it won't work any more.

    Use Offline NT Password Editor.

    It isn't the most user friendly program in the world so if you want some step by step instructions, create the CD, boot to it and post back, I'll walk you through.

    The tutorial in post 2 has many easier ways of resetting the password. Click the blue words.

    However post 4 works too.

    Which option in tutorial post two should I use? I am logged into my computer now, but I am afraid to restart or log out again, I tried to change password or remove password in control panel, but it keep saying my current password is incorrect.

    That is never a bad idea. I would as a precaution. You should not need to, but it cannot hurt. Using a linux disk is one way of doing that.
