Standby mode in win 7

Hi,
I had a "Standby" mode in win XP, which cause the PC to turn off (except the memory ).
It was turned on when I clicked the mouse and gave me the last state I had.
Now , I have only "Hibernate" and it executes Hibernate and not standby.
Anyone knows what to do ?

*** My display driver installed automatically from WIN7, as a generic display card. nVidia has a system search feature which find your display card and they claims that my "driver" is the latest.

I'm not real sure of what you mean, but you can change your Power Plan Settings to use "Sleep" (standby) instead of "Hibernate". This tutorial can help show you how to. You might also look at the related links at the top of the tutorial if this isn't exactly what you were looking for.

Thanks, But I have only 2 options : "Do Nothing" and "Hibernate" ... don't have "Sleep" :
As you can see here :

In that same window under Sleep instead, do you have "Sleep after" set to an amount of minutes instead of "never"?

You might also see if disabling Hibernation may help.


Double check in these areas as well to see if you have sleep available.

If none of the above help, then check your BIOS "Power Management" settings to see if you have the S1 sleep state enabled. (STEP THREE below)

I don't see the Sleep word in this window.

My BIOS is ok, I already has the feature in XP and configured the BIOS then.

If you have Sleep available, it would be here.
