Snagit is a software program from TechSmith.com, who also supply Jing. Both these programs are for screen capture. They do have a tech support section so perhaps you could request help from there.

Just so you know, Win7 has a perfectly good built-in Snipping Tool for screenshots.

I'd run a full scan with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware scanners, declining their trial version during startup to keep them on-demand. These can go into the registry and remove the kinds of sneaky programs that try to hang around even after uninstall so they can spy on you.

You can also manually search the Registry for remnants of the program by setting a System Restore point, type regedit in Start Search box, rightclick result to Run as Admin, from Edit tab click Find and type in the name of program, delete each entry it finds then click Find Next.

Works fine for me on 3 different computers using PaleMoon, Chrome and IE 9 on each.

I'd go along with gregrocker on this. Follow his suggestions on Malwarebytes and SAS. Then I'd download Revo Uninstaller, select a level 4 uninstall, and blow away SnagIt and any remnants. Then, as he said, use Windows built-in Snipping Tool.

    Suggestion.

The program is probable still running under a different name.
Go to Safe Mode and see if you can remove it. Most things not needed will not be running in Safe Mode.

    Another suggestion

General opinion seems to be remove it and I agree. However I've noticed that some programs need to "run as admin" before settings changes will stick. Some security software can also interfere with those settings changes.
