Copy Windows 7 DVD? Am I allowed to make a backup copy of the above so that I can keep the original safe and not get it scratcged or damaged?
I've been trying to do this with Acronis Burning Studio but it fails to write. I wondered if there was copy protection? | My System Specs |

Yes, you are allowed to make archival backups of your installation media ... as far as I know there is no copy protection.. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ASUSTeK Computer INC. Tews is right (of course)
Use ImgBurn to make an ISO and then burn it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Too many to list. OS XP, Seven, 2008R2 CPU AMD, Intel, VIA Motherboard Various Memory Corsair, Kingston, etc. Graphics Card ATI, NVIDIA Monitor(s) Displays Samsung Keyboard qwerty Hard Drives Maxtor, Western Digital Internet Speed 22 Mb/s @ home, 1 Gb/s @ server Other Info All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality. |

Thank you Tews and sup3rsprt. I copied the disk to my hard drive and then burnt it with Ashampoo, so I got there.
I think maybe I need a different DVD-R dye. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Mesh Elite Premiere Pro OS Windows 7 CPU Intel E6600 CoreT 2 Duo 2.4GHz Motherboard Asus P5VD2-VM Memory 2048mb DDR2 66/Mhz Graphics Card nVidia DDR2 GeForce 7300GS TV out DVI Sound Card 5.1 HD onboard Monitor(s) Displays GNR 19" LCD Hard Drives 500gb Serial ATA 16mb buffer |

Different dye? Why?
I hope you copied the disk as an image (or 1:1 copy) because otherwise it won't be bootable. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Too many to list.
