Had a hard crash and no have corrupt system files.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I had a totally random crash and a handful of system files became corrupt. Mostly .dll's and a few .exe files. I dont know what they all are, I am only aware of them when I try to complete an operation and an error box pops up. All of the directories seem to point back towards windows system folders. This happened before I got a good system backup, I know im an idiot, and I want to avoid a fresh OS install as I have sooooo much crap already installed replacing it all would take forever. Can anyone help me figure out how to replace the files one at a time as they come up, or figure out how to simply reinstall system files only?

Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to SevenFourms,

Have you tried doing a system file check?
information   Information
The sfc /scannow command (System File Checker) scans the integrity of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible.

Read the guide here - SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I ran the scan about a dozen times and its still not fixed. Should I just keep at it? how many times should it take? If not are there any other option? Any advice is appreciated.

Cannot get rid of corrupt files from hard drive
Hello, I recently upgraded my laptop's hard drive from the stock HDD to a SSD. On the HDD I had some corrupted files that I couldn't get rid of. I cloned my old hard drive to the new SSD, hoping that the files wouldn't transfer but they did. So I still have about 7 directories on my new SSD that...

Corrupt system from hard drive failure - SFC cannot fix all errors
My hard drive most likely sustained some light damage recently. The BIOS hard drive self test returns the error '#10008 - replace hard disk'. Using the Windows utility hooked up as an external hard drive it found 3 bad sectors. At least this is what I was told by my friend, unclear what it did with...

Files corrupt after copy to usb hard disk
Lately I had problems playing video-files (hd content, mkv container) on my WD HD TV. Turned out that the files were corrupted when after copying to the usb disk. First I was afraid my Intel X25-m was the culprit, but windiff proved that the error occurred after copying, and there was a difference...

Some system files are corrupt.
For a few weeks now, Windows Explorer sometimes stops working after startup. My computer freezes, but Explorer restarts after a few minutes. This usually happens every time I start the computer, but everything is fine after that. I did a sfc scan and found that some system files were corrupt, but...

Corrupt files on external hard drive
Ok, So, today I left my computer on while i went out for a little while as it was making an archive of a file (located on my internal hard drive). I came home to find the computer locked up on the screen saver, tried a "Ctrl-Alt-Del", and nothing happened. I waited a little bit to see if it would...
