File from my desktop wont be removed. Stuck permanently.

    File from my desktop wont be removed. Stuck permanently.


    I have this file in my desktop, which has no extension, and is 0 bytes.



    i cant delete it with delete keyboard button, shift + delete doesnt work also, restarting computer + deleting also doesnt work.



    i also tried delete it using run as admin command prompt. no luck

    Hi,

    Another option is to start in safe mode and see if you can delete it then.

    Start in safe mode: Safe Mode

    avira detects Unlocker installer as spyware or something.

    This may be a false positive due to what the software is designed to do however last time i had an issue like this i could delete the file in Safe Mode.

    thanks, the Unlocker worked... too bad i accidentaly clicked Desktop > Delete, i had to force log off then relogin, saw many of my files in Recycle Bin.

    my files are still intact.

    Most welcome ... I take it you where referring to the Desktop Icons .. They are only shortcuts and could have been replaced if need be ...

    i clicked Desktop folder in the Unlocker application.

    but there were video files, pics, etc.. on my desktop. they would have been deleted also.

    If you have lost them and they are not in your recycle bin you could try this software to recover them:
