Multiple programs crash on fresh Install, with "StackHash" Error

My mother was having problems with her computer at work and we decided to do a fresh install of Windows 7. Now, multiple programs, including Windows Explorer, are crashing with a "StackHash" error and I don't know what that means. Attached is the picture of the error when I right-click Computer and go to Properties. I can't even preview this screenshot because the Preview program crashes. I'm also having the same problem on multiple other programs. Is it perhaps a bad hard drive, RAM, or graphics card?

Where did you get the install disc?

When did the Stackcrash start happening?

Immediately after reinstall
After install of SP1
After install of all Windows Updates
After install of programs

Time to start "Fresh Install" tweaks list!
Hi guys- October is coming soon - and as I just did a quick search here in the forum, there does not seem to be a compiled list of suggested tweaks after a fresh install. For instance I just read about tweaking the Aero Peek speed from 400ms to 40. It was a new one to me, but something like that...
