    music Run shortcut

    UPDATE: Solved:

I like using the run dialog as a launcher and place shortcuts to frequently used applications and folders in the System folder. For example I have a shortcut for Firefox named ff, so that I can Run type the keyword: "ff" without quotes and launch the application with a few keystrokes.

I want to make a shortcut like this for my My Music folder which I have stored on an external hard drive. If I type music in the run dialog, it takes me to USERNAME\My Music, even before I add a shortcut to the System folder. Why is Windows recognizing the music command in Run?

You can try changing the default music folder location in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders, but be careful with the registry :)
also you could just have a different shortcut name

edit: here is ms's article on that: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/221837

Thx but I was asking about the location for the info on the run cmd shortcuts. You can change the default location without editing the registry via properties>location tab when you right click on My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, and My Videos. I have already done that without the registry.

Where are the run command settings that tells Win 7 where to go if I type "music" w/out the quotes in the run box?

Right click your desktop, choose new shortcut and enter the options.
