how to setup ssd and hhd properly

Hello I am currently running a small ssd with a regular hard drive. I was wondering is there any way to make it so that ones I have installed windows 7 on my ssd. Can I make that drive my boot drive but not my main "C" drive so that when I get ready to download something it goes to the hhd not the ssd. I know I can just choose a different directory but I want the ssd to be the boot drive for windows 7 not the c drive. Or main drive in this case. Also when I download things like games when the game updates is there a way to put the games on the ssd and put the updates on the hhd so the updates dont take up space. Thanks

Hello bigboi mate if I ma not badly mistaken the boot drive has to be the C: drive by default - have you seen this User Profile - Change Default Location

How do I setup Win7 on SSD - properly?
Please provide guidelines for using SSD as System Drive (60 GB). I understand there are several issues like: - buying 8 GB RAM plus dismissing pagefile.sys (myth or true?) - setup of user files cleanly on D: drive (yes, big and mirrored) - other settings helping to preserve SSD No doubt,...
