Incorrect File Names in Documents Library

Good catch on the icon. I'm betting that the folder is not set to the default location anymore.

In that case, and from what David posted, check to make sure that you have your "C:\Users\(user-name)\Documents" folder included in your Documents library.

If that doesn't help, then double check using OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to make sure that your "C:\Users\(user-name)\Documents" folder is set to it's default location.

@Brink, I had moved my "My Documents" folder from it's default location to the F: drive years ago. This issue just cropped up the other day. "My Documents", regardless of it's physical location, was, and always has been, included in my "Documents" library. However, I went ahead and did a restore to the defaults. Here's what happened.

I reset "My Documents" back to the default location of C:\Users\Ralph\Documents (which is an empty folder). The icon for it reverted to the correct one. Then went into the "Documents" library, which should have shown the folders and files in the "My Documents" (C:\Users\Ralph\Documents) and "Public Documents" (C:\Users\Public\Documents) libraries. It's still showing files that are not in the root of either sub-library, but different ones than before (see attached JPG). It's showing files that are still located on the second hard drive (F:, buried down in sub-folders several layers down from the root (F:\).

For example, the file named "+.hfo", at the top of the list, should not be listed in the "Documents" library. It's actual location is way down in the "Public Documents" library (C:\Users\Public\Documents\Pinnacle\Content\HollywoodFX\Objects\School). Another file, "01 - Holiday Background R.Montage.axt", is located in 'C:\Users\Public\Documents\Pinnacle\Content\IMG-Templates\Red Giant Holidays - Backgrounds".

I'm going to try uninstalling Pinnacle and emptying out the Public Documents folder.

While you have the Documents library open like in your top screenshot, right click on an empty area, click on Group by, and click on Folder to have it look like below. :)

"My Music" would be for you "C:\Users\(user-name)\Music" folder instead of the library. You should see the Location tab when you check properties at the "C:\Users\(user-name)\Music" location.

Do you have a Location tab from there instead?

I'm happy to hear that the library issue is now sorted.

For the Location tab issue, see if doing OPTION TWO below to restore the default location of your "C:\Users\(user-name)\Music" folder will do the trick. It doesn't sound like it successfully got moved back.
