New folder will not open

When I attempt to open a "new folder" to arrange photos nothing happens..

So you created a New Folder and that's what it's named? Then you copied photos into it, and now you can't access it? Is that correct?

nope..that's not it..

When i go to pictures and the New Folder header is clicked on nothing happens where normaly it would open a new folder..I have plenty of old folders but I cannot create a new one to put anything new in it..

Hello Whiteman, and welcome to Seven Forums.

As a test, see if downloading and merging the .reg file for the listed folder option in the tutorial below may be able to help. It will restore the default associations and registry entries for folders.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

If that doesn't help, then you could do a system restore using a restore point dated before this issue started to hopefully undo and fix is.
