Reverting the registery to its default settings

Hello all,

On my friend's Windows 7 x86 machine some registery apps were working and every so often some odd thing would occur. After uninstalling those registery apps which were doubtful to me, we restarted to use the machine. Now I think the registery has changed and is different to its default. How to revert those registery settings to their default state please?

No, unfortunately it's not backed up. And I didn't understand what you mean by "What programs were used", my friend.

We didn't use any registery cleaners. But those apps (which I've forgotten their names) were to modify the registery so I uninstalled them. After that I uninstalled others excess apps as well and left the machine as was. Now I don't know/think restore point is much useful because many changes have been happened. A good tool for getting the registery returned to its default would be desired!

Run a System Scan that will tell you if you have corrupt Files ..

If sfc /scannow doesn't do the job you could try a Repair Install.
Here is a tutorial by Brink.

OK. So if there wasn't any corrupt file that means registery is fine?

Thank both of you.

Getting back the Registery to its default situation
Hello all, Consider I start working on a Windows 7 machine. When exploring it I see there are many changes that have been occurred by Registery entries. To solve them I need to go to the path and modify each one. But I think there should be some simpler way, say a tool. I know there are many...
