Windows Or Apple ?

I have an iPhone5 and an iPad, but have Windows based PC's. There is nothing wrong with Mac's except the overprice. As I use Sonar software for my recording studio, it is only offered for Windows systems, not Mac. If I had a Mac, I would have to run a Windows OS on the Mac to be able to use my recording studio "DAW" software.

In my case, why pay 3X as much for an equivalent Mac and then install the Windows shell?

The issue about Mac's being less troublesome has a catch. Apple produces both the hardware and operating system and associated software. They have control over the entire process. Microsoft produces the OS software (and other applications) but it has to work on a multitude of different hardware.

IMHO, if your going to use a mac, its better and cheaper just to move to ubuntu instead.

Otherwise, I see no point in overpaying for the apple tax and locking yourself so deep into an ecosystem that you have to struggle to break free.

I'd suggest Linux Mint (instead of Ubuntu) because it uses a conventional interface. :)

I would agree with you, but recently I had several people move away from windows as all they did was browse the web. That was it. So I showed them mint, ubuntu, zorin, elementary etc. They all liked ubuntu the best for some reason. I thought zorin would win since it looks like windows sorta (start menu and all that looks more windows like then mints), but they liked ubuntu the best.

So that is what i recommend.

    Interesting.
I guess if you showed them how to use Unity that would make sense. :)

If they don't do anything, other than surf the web, Unity would be OK.
