Edit visual effects as suggested in Bloatware tutorial below.

Try another Display driver from manufacturer for your model.

    Try another video card.

Compare the reinstall you did to Reinstall tutorial below, particularly how drivers are handled.

Consider doing it over but testing performance first after install, then after each group of Updates restart, after eachi driver installed after Updates provides its drivers , after each program install. This pinpoints what's causing problems.

You can also boot and run with a boot disk with HD unplugged which will elininate HE and software as cause. https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...cy-backup.html

If it happens again, I shall then try those next steps.

I have just ran a PassMark performance test to upload benchmarks, it was kind of a stress test for all components, the pc was fine, did not hang.

    LOTS MORE CLUES AQUIRED

It tried to crash again as I was restarting for windows updates - it almost crashed but I managed to get the ctrl+alt+del menu, that is where I found an error message strangely enough..

The error message: Screenshot by Lightshot

After it shut down, it stopped on the black screen before the motherboard logo post. I checked the code my motherboard displays on crashes and it has a code of (53).

(50-53) in the handbook means: Memory initializing error. Invalid memory type or incompatible memory speed.

My ram is ddr4 2133mhz, motherboard is asus rampage extreme V rog.

So I rebooted my pc and the thing I saw was a message saying that the overclocking failed press f1 to go into the settings (bios).
So I went into bios and chose "EZ Tuning (overclocking)" I let the board overclock my motherboard automatically.

Before this I have not attempted any overclocking.

    I would not overclock.

Earlier you said you tested RAM - Test with Memtest86+
for one pass which took 55 minutes? This does not sound right.

Follow the steps in tutorial exactly for testing for at least 6 passes.

The thing is it over clocks by it's self even without doing anything its just standard.

I shall run a mem test over night then :)

I was out the whole day so I let memtest run. It ran for 6h40m and had told me it was finished. No errors found.

Also my dns server keeps stopping - rarely though. I have tried different servers and the one I was on before was Google and now its the free open thing that is default for everyone, my friends with these DNSs had no problems like me.

I'm not sure what could be messing with my dns ? - Programs were working fine with internet, just the web browser wouldnt work.

You'll actually save time doing a diagnostic reinstall - testing performance after install, then after each round of Updates, then after each program install to pinpoint fail.

Use Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Wipe the HD first with Diskpart Clean CMD with all others unplugged.

It can take about 5 days until it will do it again, that would be just too much of a pain to do.

It did it again just before Rust (game) launched, keyboard and mouse lights turned off but screen and pc lights still on.

I have a feeling it could be to do with Samsung SSD magician configuring my system settings, I changed it to best reliability now instead of best performance. I also reseated my graphics card.
