It should correspond to the User account you first set up when installing the OS or setting up a new PC. What is the User name in Control Panel>User Accounts. You can change that but it will never completely change all the User folder name references until reinstall due to Security built in by MS.
Then isn't there a C:\Users\Paul? Why not?
You said that you had no named User account. It should have set one up at install that will not completely go away even by changing it until reinstall.

I'm going to go ahead and try installing my program again.
Would the above issue have any reason for the install to not work? Sorry but I just want to be sure, thanks.
If it had problem accessing User folders because of their previous path, maybe. This is more direct without an extra User folder. Try again.
I'm only seeing post #76 now Greg not sure how I missed it. I will give this a shot.
I tried running the install again and the same thing seems to be happening. It is absolutely crawling it must be running 40 minutes now. So I know it's going to be a corrupt install again.
I have a feeling I'm going to have to wipe the OS and start again which is pretty shocking as it's only a new PC. I hope I'm wrong through.
Is it possible that the Max installer be corrupted in any way? Try redownloading it?
Another thing comes to mind, did you restart PC after you made the changes to folders? Not sure if necessary but doesn't hurt to try.

According to that webpage, make sure
- you have the correct installer 32-64bit
- install .net framework 4.0, should have this already if you are up-to-date with updates
- run as admin or turn of UAC
- empty your TEMP folder
- disable anti-virus
Hope these help.
