Hi all. Anyone shed any light on why Windows7UpgradeAdvisor.exe wont run, when I click RUN - nothing happens. PC using Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

Please fill out your system specs. Instructions on how to do this are contained in the link in my signature.

Do you happen to have any special characters in your admin login name? I'm talking about &, _, $, etc etc. If so, create a new admin user without spaces or special characters and see if you can install and run the upgrade advisor under the new admin user.

    Updated my specs

    Hi Kegobeer,

Thank you for your time. I have updated my system specs for my laptop, as the Windows7UpgradeAdvisor.exe is not running on it either. I changed my admin name as it had the character "&" in it but it made no difference. I always have UAC switched off for my convenience.

    Any further help, much apreciated.

    Regards,

    Christian:)

Don't change the name - you must create a new account.

Here's the guide provided by Microsoft:

    Create a user account

Make sure the user is an adminstrator.
