Disk partition has no volume (Annoying)

    You's better do the short test first. If that fails.... disk is faulty.
    Anyway.. let the long test run for many hours now and post the results.

    Do the short test as well. Post exact errors.

    it basically just said it failed because of bad sectors and im doing a full erase, i dont care about the files in the hdd i can replace them

    its a seagate momentus 320gb 7200.4... in an asus g60v

    Why do you think a "full erase" will fix bad sectors?

    so apparently the erase did work and i was able to install windows 8.1 successfully. now im going to install windows 7 because i like it better.

    Very strange.... real bad sectors can't be fixed that way.
